REGULATIONS

ACCESS AND VISIT RULES

  • For school groups from the European Union accompanied by their teachers, booking is mandatory and free of charge, and entitles students and teachers to free admission until the quota set by the head of the institution is exhausted.
  • School groups must be organised into groups of maximum 16 pupils, including accompanying adults (28 for the Boboli Gardens).
  • Please note: once the quota has been reached, students and accompanying persons will be able to access the museums according to the ordinary admission procedures, in compliance with:
  • of current legislation on ticket issuance (Admission concessions);
  • the rules governing reservations;
  • rules relating to groups (surcharge for large groups and obligation to wear earphones).
  • School groups are also required to use earphones. Children up to the end of primary school are exempt from using earphones. In this case, accompanying teachers are treated as tour guides and therefore cannot give explanations without using earphones. They are also required to supervise minors and school groups. If groups do not already have earphones, they can hire them inside the museums. If teachers are not interested in giving explanations and wish to be exempted from the obligation to use earphones, they can fill in a special declaration form, which can be downloaded from this link: https://www.datocms-assets.com/103094/1695721186 -1529481905366868-dichiarazione-di-rinuncia-all-utilizzo-degli-auricolari.pdf
  • School groups interested in visiting the Boboli Gardens may only enter through the Annalena, Porta Romana and Forte Belvedere entrances. Entry to the Gardens from the Ammannati Courtyard of Palazzo Pitti is reserved exclusively for school groups in possession of a combined Boboli Gardens + Palazzo Pitti ticket.
  • As provided for in Legislative Decree 507/97, school teaching staff, whether permanent or on fixed-term contracts, are entitled to free admission upon presentation of appropriate certification issued by educational institutions on the form provided by the Ministry of Education and Merit. This benefit is only available to Italian teachers. The form is valid for one year.
  • On days (or during time slots) with free admission, it is not possible to book admission. Priority access is suspended except for persons with disabilities, including their legal companions, pregnant women, and school groups from the European Union falling within the daily quota established by the Director.
